Hi everyone. Eunice and I went for the music appreciation talk, Mad About Strings, yesterday at Asian Civilisation Museum. I must say that it’s definitely worth S$18 for the ticket. Not only did we get to see the different parts of violin, we also managed to see performances by students of Yong Siew Tong Conversatory of Music. We also get to touch the violins made in 1920s. My favourite violin, out of the 4 that showcased, is made by Hieronymous Amati. It’s worth US$800k.
I can never afford it… Anyway, I get to touch one of the famous Stradivari violin and it feels just like a normal violin. Well, I’m not an expert in this field. Maybe that’s why I don’t feel the difference. However, I must say that the wood of Stradivari violin really do stand out from the 4 violins that are showcased to us.
Apart from understanding more about violin making, we also had a talk by Andrew Lim from Symphony 92.4 on the must-get CDs for string instruments. I want to get the Jascha Heiftz, The Supreme CD… After the talk, Eunice and I went to HMV to check out the prices of the CDs. The Jascha Heiftz, The Supreme CD costs around S$17. However, it’s on offer so it’s like 3 CDs for S$50. I guess I will have to share it with someone to get the CD. I can’t possibility buy 3 CDs, can I?
Anyway, hope the CD is still on sale when I decided to buy it.
Anyway, after the talk, I love my violins more than ever. This talk really taught me how violin is made and the Luthier behind my violins really do put a lot of effort in making my violins.

Hi everyone. Thanks to AnMarie and Maddie for helping me on the redirection problem. I have successfully redirect violinstar.net to violinstar.net/wp using Jay’s tutorial.
Hosting will be closed tomorrow so hurry if you are interested to apply.
I’m getting tired and sleepy. I can’t wait for A level to end. Just 1.5 months more to go. Press on, Sakura! I’m scared of A levels but since I have to meet it sooner or later, I would rather meet it soon and get it over and done with. No way am I going to give up and stay on another year to prepare myself better for A levels. 2 years of JC is enough for me, I don’t want to lengthen it. Thank goodness I manage to pass all my subjects, including General Paper and Economics, this time round. I shall continue to work hard and persevere. Just 1.5 months more to go. Gambatte, Sakura!

Hosting, Site Updates
Hi everyone. Maddie reviewed my site and together with all the reviews I received, I have been making changes to ViolinStar.NET. You may find it confusing since the web pages at ViolinStar.NET keeps changing. Please bear with it for a while. Thank you for your understanding.
I hope the content page is neater and better now. I also hope my splash page isn’t that irritating. The reason why I have a splash page is that I installed wordpress under a folder called wp and I have no idea how to redirect violinstar.net to violinstar.net/wp. If you know, please contact me. I will be more than willing to learn how to redirect violinstar.net.
I also updated my affiliates page. It’s been some time since I last updated it. All the pending affiliates are either removed or shifted to the affiliates section.
By the way, I may need a host to host my new domain. I haven’t bought a new domain yet as I would need a host before I buy my domain. I wouldn’t want my new domain name to be “homeless”. Yes, I can host my own domain using ViolinStar.NET’s server. However, I wouldn’t have enough resources to host other sites. I want to host other sites. Hope someone is kind enough to host my new domain. My new domain is going to be my hosting domain name and I would definitely need cPanel. if you can host my new domain and provide me with cPanel, please contact me.
Lastly, a reminder to those who are interested to be hosted at ViolinStar.NET, please visit this page and apply as soon as possible.

Hi everyone. Originally, I wanted to go out and celebrate Eunice’s birthday. Unfortunately, Rui Yun can’t make it and as a result, the celebration was postponed. *sigh* I want to go out after studying so hard for A level. Well, I guess I have to wait till this Sunday when Eunice and I are going for Mad About Strings, a music appreciation talk that teaches string players how to choose their instrument, how to cope with music exams, etc. Click here for more information. I shall blog more about Mad Abut Strings on this Sunday or the coming Monday.
It’s wednesday today, which means 4 days more to Mad About Strings. Counting down to Mad About Strings shall starts now…
